So you may have seen the recent outfits that the First Lady Michelle Obama wore before, during and after the Presidential Inauguration.  But did you know how much of what she wears actually helps the companies in the fashion industry???  The New York Times says " In a 2010 study of her economic impact, David Yermack, of the Stern School of Business at New York University, found that the average value to a company from an appearance by Mrs. Obama was $14 million."

To put it in perspective...in 2009 the the First Lady wore a pair of green J. Crew gloves...soon after being seen by the publice the J. Crew wesbsite crashed because so many people were trying to buy the green gloves.
