Kids today might THINK they have great options to choose from when it comes to Christmas presents. But any adult knows that the Christmas presents WE got as kids were WAY cooler. And according to this list, we're RIGHT.
A department store in England looked at its records dating way back to 1950, and came up with a list of the most popular toys that have been sold during the holidays. Here are the top ten.
1. Cabbage Patch Dolls
2. Rubik's Cubes
4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle action figures
5. Buzz Lightyear
6. Barbie Dolls
9. Calico Critters, which were little animal dolls that were originally called "Sylvanian Families" back in the '80s. And they were more popular in England and Japan.
According to a new study, the more INTENSELY you smiled in your yearbook photo, the less likely you are to get DIVORCED.
People who didn't smile at all were FIVE TIMES more likely to get divorced at some point in their lives compared to the people who smiled the biggest.
Matthew Hertenstein is a psychology professor at DePauw University in Indiana. He just released a book called "The Tell" that digs into the study, and he has two theories.
One is that people who are naturally happy and smiling go on to have happier marriages. Obviously.
The second is that people who smiled big when a photographer told them to are naturally more OBEDIENT . . . which can also be a trait that holds marriages together.
For many today is a lucky day. There was lots of buzz about people getting married because the date was easy to remember? Hopefully that's not the only reason. The National Toy Hall of Fame just announced its two new inductees for 2013. And they are . . . CHESS and the RUBBER DUCK. They beat out several other strong finalists including bubbles, the board game Clue, green Army men, Magic 8-Ball, Nerf toys, Pac-Man, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
